Step by step
- Get the prescriber's full name and the state where they're licensed (a legitimate platform should provide this)
- Visit that state's medical board (physicians) or nursing board (NPs) public license lookup
- Search the name and review license status, any disciplinary actions, and license history
What disciplinary records might show
- Suspended or revoked licenses (in which case they shouldn't be practicing at all)
- Formal reprimands or probation status, with the underlying reason typically documented
- A clean record, which is itself useful confirmatory information
