How to Verify Which Pharmacy a Telehealth Program Uses
A telehealth brand, a clinical group, a pharmacy and a fulfillment company may be separate businesses. Knowing which party does what is an important part of evaluating a medication program.
Ask for the pharmacy name
Before paying, request the dispensing pharmacy name and location, whether it is licensed to serve your state, and how the prescription is reviewed and fulfilled. Confirm claims directly with the relevant state board or regulator when possible.
Distinguish the product type
Clarify whether the proposed medication is FDA-approved, and, if compounded, why a compounded product would be considered and what rules apply. Compounded drugs are not FDA-approved. A program should not suggest a compounded version is automatically identical to an approved product.
Understand the clinical handoff
Ask whether the prescribing clinician and pharmacy can answer questions about adverse events, dosage instructions, delivery problems and refills. Identify where to send urgent concerns. An online questionnaire does not replace individualized medical review.
Keep a written record
Save the name of the clinician or medical practice, pharmacy, total fees, and written cancellation terms. If the site refuses to disclose basic sourcing or promises guaranteed prescriptions, treat that as a reason to investigate further.
